TeachTown, a leading provider of special education curriculum software for students with moderate to severe disabilities, announces today its partnership with Aspire Public Schools, one of the nation’s first, and largest, charter management organizations. This partnership grants 8 out of 36 of Aspire Public Schools’ Local Education Agencies (LEAs) the opportunity to maximize student outcomes through utilization of TeachTown’s award-winning suite of solutions.
“Our dedication to full inclusion in the general education classroom is a top priority, and I am excited to begin utilizing TeachTown’s standards-based curriculum to support the learning of our students with extensive needs,” states Rainy Bruce, Director of Specialized Programs, Aspire Public Schools. She continues, “Having access to the pedagogical resources that TeachTown provides, alongside the classic and modern literature libraries that directly align with what is taught in our general education classrooms, supports the access, participation and academic rigor for our students with extensive needs.”
Aspire Public Schools is implementing a blended approach of hands-on learning, technology-facilitated lessons and individualized, technology-delivered instruction through TeachTown’s K-12 standards-based, adapted core curriculum, enCORE. In addition, Transition to Adulthood, a curriculum built on evidence-based teaching practices that supports transition-aged students, is being utilized to promote independence, employability and community access among adolescents.
“Working alongside Aspire Public Schools to provide equitable, inclusive and meaningful education reaffirms the measurable impact that our curriculums and interventions are having on the academic, behavioral and adaptive functioning of our student population,” shares Richard Becker, chief executive officer, TeachTown. He continues, “We are honored to team up with Aspire Public Schools and look forward to a growing partnership that promotes ongoing success for students and educators.”
