As the traditional school year comes to a close, many special educators are faced with a critical question: how can we ensure students with moderate to severe disabilities continue progressing on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals? TeachTown’s enCORE ESY 2025 provides a solution to support educators in delivering engaging, standards-first instruction throughout the summer for Extended School Year (ESY) services.
Launching April 25, 2025, enCORE’s 4-week ESY program is built to help students apply and generalize essential skills in ELA, math, science, and social studies while maintaining continuity with their school-year learning. Best of all, enCORE ESY is included with your enCORE license and remains active for the duration of your subscription, giving educators flexibility and long-term access.
enCORE ESY follows the same high-quality, adapted core curriculum as enCORE K-12, providing students with access to the general education curriculum in a way that meets their unique learning needs. Each subject area includes engaging lessons, activities, and hands-on learning experiences.

This year, students will embark on a virtual road trip across the U.S., exploring different cities and engaging in region-specific learning experiences. You can follow the structured 4-week schedule as outlined or adjust the order to fit your students’ needs, making the curriculum flexible and adaptable to any timeline.
📍 Week 1: Oakland, CA – Nature & Landmarks
📍 Week 2: Chicago, IL – Urban Exploration & Culture
📍 Week 3: Philadelphia, PA – History & Government
📍 Week 4: New Orleans, LA – Music & Culinary Traditions
enCORE ESY includes a map that is a printable worksheet designed for students to track their “travels” across the U.S. in a fun, interactive way, whether individually or as a classroom activity. The program supports multi-modal learning, blending interactive technology to support data collection and progress monitoring, worksheets, and hands-on activities to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Listen to one of our dynamic enCORE users share their experience with enCORE for ESY –
“The other day during ESY, a teacher called out and there was no substitute available. I stepped in to teach the class. Because of TeachTown’s ready-to-go lesson plans and materials within enCORE, I was able to step in without advance notice and teach the class for the day. With TeachTown’s adapted core curriculum, you have instant, high quality, comprehensive curriculum at your fingertips. Having one single spot to log on and access a wide variety of curriculum simplifies the day-to-day.” -Jill Z., Special Education Program Coordinator, Evergreen Public Schools
