Change in education isn’t easy. It means giving up what’s familiar and putting in the effort to try something new—which is exactly what we ask of students every day. For Pflugerville ISD, change became necessary to better serve their students with disabilities.
“We needed to narrow down some of our choices,” explained Somer Niemann, Executive Director of Special Education. “We had a lot of different curriculums being used across campuses and we needed to provide consistency.”
In addition to consistency—they needed a curriculum that would support student success and ease the burden on teachers. That’s when they turned to TeachTown.
The challenges of change in a school setting can be alleviated when teachers are properly trained, supported, and encouraged.
