TeachTown Basics - Research-Based and Evidence Supported

TeachTown®: Basics is based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) which is considered to be the most effective treatment for children with autism (National Research Council, 2001).

An NCTI Funded Study Demonstrates TeachTown®: Basics Effectiveness in a Classroom Setting.

In a study conducted at Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), students with autism who used TeachTown®: Basics twenty minutes a day in the classroom for 3 months were compared to a control group of students with autism in the same LAUSD intensive autism educational program. Students who used TeachTown®: Basics showed greater developmental gains (as measured by the Brigance®, a developmental assessment which was administered by each student’s teacher) than students who did not use the program over a 3-month period.

This research was published in the May 2010 edition of the peer-reviewed journal Autism.
